Chiropractic

Chiropractic is an effective, non-invasive, and drug free form of health care. It is the third largest form of healthcare in Australia and it has helped millions of people worldwide. In Australia Chiropractors are the spinal health care experts with 5 years of full time University training.

Chiropractic works on the scientific premise that the body is a self-regulating, self-healing organism. The nervous system is the principal controller of the body, and when there is interference with the nervous system, the body cannot regulate itself properly.

The skull protects the delicate tissues of the brain. The moving bones of the spine protect the intricate communication pathways of the spinal cord and nerve roots. Changes in spinal mechanics and alignment can impair these nervous system pathways,  which in turn can cause malfunction of tissue and organ function throughout the body.

By restoring normal spinal mechanics, Chiropractors are able to restore nervous system function to improve health and reduce pain. This is achieved by applying corrections to the specific spinal segments over a series of adjustments, utilising a variety of techniques to suit each individual patient.

The Chiropractic techniques commonly used at Margaret River Wellness Centre are:

  • Neuro Organizational Technique (NOT)

  • Advanced Biostructural Correction (ABC)

  • Gonstead

  • Diversified

  • Sacro Occipital Technique (SOT)

  • Thompson Drop Piece

  • Activator Instrument

  • Applied Kinesiology

Chiropractic also places an emphasis on nutrition, exercise, and healthy lifestyle modifications. Your chiropractor will usually offer you exercises at some stage to help with your care, and if you are willing, may discuss your daily lifestyle and ways to include more healthy habits.
